BIO
Welcome to Science 7 and Spanish 7/8 class! My name is Jessica Tapia. I am from Puerto Rico. I came to Alabama in 2003. I am a bilingual teacher. I enjoy reading, cooking, and sports. In my spare time, I enjoy doing Boot Camp workouts and dance. I have two children: Angel (UAB, Medicine School) and Ramonita (CACC). I am certified in Secondary Education in Biology and K-12 Spanish education. I have been teaching for 10 years. I got my first bachelor’s in veterinary technology from the University of Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico. My second bachelor's degree is in Zoology/Pre-Vet from Auburn University in Auburn, AL. I also have a Master's in Secondary Education in Biology from Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, AL. I am the proud sponsor of the WMS Spanish Club.
I am very excited to have your child in my class. I am so happy to be part of the Wetumpka Middle School family. In the science class you are going to have a wonderful time with hands-on activities, laboratories, and creative and innovative activities. In the Spanish class you will be exploring vocabulary, culture, grammar, and pronunciation. We will learn how to communicate in Spanish and be able experience authentic cultural activities. I am confident that all my students will be successful in either class if they put hard work and dedication into it. It’s my job to make your child succeed, which is why I will provide them with all the necessary tools to grow. Their success in both classes will depend on their abilities to study frequently and review constantly.
