Bio
Diana Frazier is a 26 year veteran music educator. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Troy State University in 1998 and a Master of Music Education degree from Auburn University in 2009. She began her career in Zephyrhills, Florida teaching band and elementary music. She later spent several years teaching in Montgomery, Alabama at both Capitol Heights Jr High and Georgia Washington Jr High schools. Mrs. Frazier has been at Wetumpka Middle School since 2010. Throughout her career her bands have consistently received superior ratings at the Alabama Bandmasters Association’s Music Performance Assessment. Her students have received superior ratings in Solo and Ensemble festivals and been selected to numerous honor bands, including All-State. She has served as a guest clinician and conductor for the Auburn University Middle School Honor Band as well as their Summer Concert Band Camp. In 2016, she was named Wetumpka Middle School’s Teacher of the Year. She also received the WSFA Class Act Award in 2018. In 2020, Mrs. Frazier was nominated for a Grammy for excellence in Music Education.
Mrs. Frazier is an active member of the National Association of Music Educators, Alabama Music Educators Association, the Alabama Bandmaster’s Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota, a professional fraternity for women in music. She and her husband Preston, live in Wetumpka with their two children, Sarah and Alex.
